Communities Awarded Grants Through 2021 Paint Iowa Beautiful Program

(Undated)– Several northwest Iowa communities have been awarded grants through the 2021 Paint Iowa Beautiful program. It’s a collaborative effort between Diamond Vogel paint and the Keep Iowa Beautiful program.

Cities awarded grants in our region include Algona (for painting four meeting rooms and two hallways in the Public Library), Cherokee (to paint a wall in the Public Library’s Youth Department), Estherville (to paint various homes in the city), Laurens (for the Sportsman’s Pond Bridge and playground equipment), Pocahontas (for a shelter house at Elbert Park and the log cabin at Princess Park), Primghar (for the Community Building, skating rink, shelter house and park buildings), Rock Rapids (for the Rock Rapids Mural Society and the Benson’s Skating Rink Mural restoration), Sheldon (for the Sheldon Chamber & Development Corp and the historic train depot), Sibley (for the Sibley Parks & Recreation Department and the Central Park shelter house), Sioux Center (to paint the interior of the Public Library), Storm Lake (for the Sunrise Campground office and shower house), and Sutherland (for the kitchen and dining area of the Senior Dinner Date Site).

132 projects statewide were awarded grants through the program this year.
