Dickinson County 4-H & FFA Fair Gets Underway Friday (July 17th)

(Spirit Lake)– The 2026 Dickinson County 4-H and FFA Fair gets underway this Friday, July 17th at the fairgrounds in Spirit Lake. Brianne Blom, an Outreach Educator with ISU Extension in Dickinson County says the opening day Friday will feature some pet shows, poultry and rabbit shows, Clover Kids sheep, goat and beef shows, and a special event that evening…

“Family Fun Night at 5:00 pm at the Expo parking lot on Friday, July 17th. It’s one of the highlights Friday. And then Saturday is our Swine Show and we also have our Sheep and Goat Show and then we also have our Clover Kids Fashion Show. I hear that was pretty awesome last year, so.”

This year’s fair will also feature some entertainment with the Feudin’ Hillbillies at 7:00 pm Sunday…

“It is free, it’s a great band, too, and what can go wrong with free? And I heard the meal is pretty good too, so excited for that. And then Monday, last but not least, it’s our Beef Show and then our lunch and they we also have our Pork Producers meal and then of course the exciting part of it at 6:00 pm is the fair awards and the Pie Auction afterwards at 7:00 pm, so.”

Blom adds livestock numbers this year are up in two areas especially…

“Our poultry numbers are more than its ever been and our rabbit numbers more than its ever been as well. Great numbers for 2026.”

She says the numbers are also strong when it comes to static exhibits.


The Dickinson County 4-H and FFA Fair concludes on Tuesday, July 21st with the annual pancake breakfast and livestock sale.
