(Arnolds Park)– Officials say this past weekend’s University of Okoboji Winter Games brought a record number of snowmobiles and all-terrain-vehicles to the Iowa Great Lakes.
Gary Owen, an enforcement officer with the Iowa Department of Natural Resources, says officers made contact with an estimated two-thousand snowmobiles over the weekend.
In addition, he estimates there were about 300 to 500 A-T-V’s.
Owen says officers found several minor violations in an enforcement sweep. Most were for registration violations and for no trail use permits.
Owen says it’s as many snowmobiles and A-T-V’s he can remember for a Winter Games weekend.
