(Spirit Lake)– An 11-year-old boy riding a skateboard was injured this (Tues.) morning when a car collided with him east of Spirit Lake.
The Dickinson County Sheriff’s Office says 17-year-old Michelle Johnson of Spirit Lake was driving a 1994 Honda Accord northwesterly on 250th Avenue or County Road M-56 when she struck the boy, who’s name wasn’t immediately released. He was taken by ambulance to Lakes Regional Healthcare with unspecified injuries.
The Sheriff’s Office was assisted on the scene by the Spirit Lake Police Department and Lakes Regional Healthcare Ambulance.
The mishap took place shortly after 7:00 a.m.
A news release issued by the Sheriff’s Office doesn’t mention whether or not any charges were filed.
