Truck Fire

The Spirit Lake fire department was called out about 7:30 Saturday morning on the report of a burning vehicle. A vehicle described as a “box truck” and owned by Plumb Supply on highway 9 West was engulfed in flames behind the business when fire crews arrived. Chief Dave Kollasch says the truck was doused with water and foam to prevent its diesel tanks from exploding. It was a total loss. Kollasch says the cause is unknown. No one was injured.
