(Spirit Lake)– A traffic stop around 7:20 a.m. Wednesday at the corner of Highways nine and 71 and Lincoln Avenue in Spirit Lake sent two Estherville residents to jail on drug-related charges.
Spirit Lake police say a traffic stop and subsequent search of a vehicle driven by 25-year-old Damian Lopez of Estherville resulted in officers finding a green leafy substance alleged to be marijuana along with some drug paraphernalia.
Lopez was charged with possession of marijuana…third offense; possession of drug paraphernalia; prohibited acts; no insurance and obstructed view.
A passenger in the vehicle, 23-year-old Seth Kazmerzak also of Estherville was arrested and charged with possession of drug paraphernalia.
The police department’s K-9 unit Zeke was utilized in the search of the vehicle.
