Spencer Police Hoping For Quiet Homecoming

November 22, 2014

(Spencer)– Spencer police are hoping for another quiet Homecoming this year.

It just a few years ago the event was marred by vandalism, disorderly conduct, assault and other disturbances.

Spencer Police Chief Mike Lashbrook says his department has met with the school and coordinated activities involving students, parents and staff. Lashbrook says his department will again this year intensify patrols in residential areas, but he’s calling on Spencer residents to help out. Lashbrook urges residents to turn on porch lights and yard lights; to go for walks in your neighborhood with fellow neighbors to show you’re taking a visible stand against criminal activity; to report any suspicious activity immediately; and to use a video camera if you have one.

Homecoming in Spencer is October 2nd through the 6th.
