November 22, 2014

(Spencer)– A blow for the local economy.

EATON Manufacturing announced today (Tuesday) it’s layhing off 150 workers at its Spencer plant. The jobs are being moved to a factory in Mexico by the fall of 2007.

Kelly Jasko, a spokesperson for EATON Manufacturing, says of the 150 layoffs, 102 are temporary workers. She says 48 jobs will be eliminated through attrition, including retirement.

EATON had sales of over 11 billion dollars in 125 countries in 2005. It has 60-thousand workers worldwide.
