Spencer Man Pleads Guilty To Federal Meth Charge

November 23, 2014 Steve Schwaller

(Spencer)– A Spencer man has pleaded guilty in U-S District Court to conspiracy to manufacture methamphetamine within a thousand feet of a school.

Court records say the conspiracy offense against 22-year-old Jason Dean Marlow took place from about August 23rd, 2001 through about August 27th, 2001 near the Spencer Middle School.

In making the guilty plea, Marlow acknowledged police searched the Travis Woods residence at 119 East First Street in Spencer. Woods was an associate of Marlow.

The search turned up items associated with the manufacturing of methamphetamine. They say there was enough to make about a half gram of pure meth.

Marlow admitted that during the conspiracy he and defendants Brandy Leggio, Gale Means, Bruce LeGear, Katy Jo Tuttle and Travis Woods agreed to manufacture meth at Woods’ residence. Marlow also admitted that a 17-year-old juvenile obtained ether and acid to assist in the manufacturing process.

Sentencing for Marlow will be set for a later date once a pre-sentence investigation is completed.

He faces a mandatory minimum sentence of not less than a year in prison with a possible maximum sentence of up to 20 years along with a two million dollar fine and a term of supervised release of atleast six years up to a maximum of life.
