(Ashton)– Residents of one northwest Iowa town now have to drive nearly seven miles for U.S. Postal services.
A notice from the U.S. Postal Service says the post office in Ashton is temporarily closed, citing “irreparable safety and health concerns for employees and customers”. It doesn’t mention a re-opening date.
In the meantime, those with an Ashton zip code will need to drive to the post office in Sibley for retail and post office box service.
Other details weren’t immediately available.
