(Spirit Lake)– If you travel much on “Stake Out Road” south of the Spirit Lake schools, you will want to pay extra attention to your speedometer.
A new speed limit has gone in effect in that area. New signs with a 35 mile-per-hour speed limit posted on them have gone up from south of the schools to the Lutheran Camp Road…or 170th Street.
The Spirit Lake City Council recently adopted an ordinance reducing the speed limit in that area from 50 miles-per-hour out of safety concerns due to new residential developments.
