(Sioux Center)– A northwest Iowa woman was sentenced to 10 years in prison Monday for stealing more than 150-thousand dollars from two implement dealerships, where she had worked as a bookkeeper.
49-year-old Sharon Elaine Buchanan of Sheldon pleaded guilty to two counts of first-degree theft and two counts of forgery.
She must begin serving the prison term October 6th.
Sioux County Attorney Melissa O’Rourke says Buchanan took more than 130-thousand dollars from Northwest Implement of Orange City and more than 21-thousand dollars from Hawke and Company of Alton.
Buchanan was arrested on February 17th.
