(Arnolds Park)– A close call Thursday on Smith’s Bay near Fillenwarth’s Beach Resort.
Rescuers plucked two people from the water when a sailboat they were operating capsized and turned upside down.
A Lakes Patrol boat and one operated by Phil Petersen of the Iowa Great Lakes Water Safety Council arrived on the scene and pulled the two people to safety. An employee of Fillenwarth’s Beach Resort tossed life jackets to the two people, who weren’t identified.
No injuries were reported.
