November 22, 2014

(Spirit Lake)– Spirit Lake has a new City Administrator/City Clerk.

The city council voted unanimously Tuesday to hire Mark Stevens of Des Moines to the position effective January 2nd, 2007.

Stevens is currently Director of General Services and Project Director for Polk county. He is a 1974 graduate of Iowa State University and received his Master of Public Administration degree from Drake University in 1982.

As Project Director for Polk county, Stevens managed all aspects of the development of the 217 million dollar Iowa Events Center in Des Moines.

He served in a number of administrative capacities for Polk county the past 31 years, including Assistant County Manager, Strategic Planning Coordinator and Planning and Budget Manager.
