(Primghar)– O’Brien county authorities say they’ve concluded their investigation into the death of a man who died last summer on a gravel road.
O’Brien County Attorney Bruce Green says an investigation by the O’Brien County Sheriff’s Office, Iowa State Patrol and the Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation determined 20-year-old Jason Michael LePaige of Archer was lying on an unlit gravel road on July 9th, 2006 when he was struck and killed.
Authorities say the driver of the vehicle that struck LePaige was determined to be 25-year-old Joshua
James McPeek of Sheldon. McPeek was convicted of operating while intoxicated for his involvement in the accident. However, Green says it could not be determined that McPeek’s intoxication was the cause of LePaige’s death and that McPeek will not be charged with the death of LePaige.
