New Program Makes Prescription Drug Cards Available To Dickinson Co. Residents

November 22, 2014

(Spirit Lake)– Dickinson county residents have a new option to help cope with the high cost of prescription drugs.

The county is making free prescription drug discount cards available under a program sponsored by the National Assocation of Counties. The cards can be used on prescriptions not covered by insurance. They offer an average savings of 20 percent off the retail price of commonly prescribed drugs.

Beth Will, Dickinson County Community Services Director, says the cards can be used by all county residents…regardless of age, income or existing health coverage. She says the cards are accepted at all of the county’s pharmacies.

The cards are available at the Dickinson County Community Services Office at the courthouse in Spirit Lake and at the Department of Human Services offices in the old fire station on Gary Avenue in Spirit Lake.

More information is available by contacting Will’s office at 336-0775.
