Milford Council Meets With Boji Bay Committee

November 23, 2014

(Milford)– No action was taken Monday evening at a joint meeting of the Milford City Council and the Boji Bay steering committee.

The committee was formed to come up with a list of services the city could contract out to Boji Bay: things such as swimming lessons, water aerobics, scuba lessons, and so on.

The attraction’s owners are requesting a 150-thousand dollar a year contractual agreement over three years with the city to help offset costs of a major expansion. As KUOO news reported last week, Boji Bay is installing 10 new land-based rides, an 18-hole miniature golf course and an outdoor entertainment area for live concerts.

In addition to the contractual possibilities, City Administrator Brian Reed outlined other funding options that may be available to assist Boji Bay.

The council couldn’t take any action because the agenda for the meeting didn’t get posted on time at city hall to meet a 24-hour requirement. The issue will be brought back to an upcoming council meeting.
