Man Dies Of Injuries Sustained In 4-Wheeler Mishap

November 22, 2014

(Peterson)– A Peterson man has died of injuries sustained in a mishap Tuesday involving a four-wheeler.

The Clay County Sheriff’s Office says 56-year-old Ricky Anderson of Peterson was driving a 2006 Polaris Sportsman pulling a sprayer westbound. Authorities say Anderson lost control when the sprayer jackknifed, throwing him off.

The sprayer then separated from the four-wheeler and continued west. It struck a mailbox and came to rest in a driveway. The four-wheeler circled around to the south and then back north, coming to rest in the ditch.

Anderson was taken to Spencer Hospital and was lifeflighted to Avera McKennan Hospital in Sioux Falls where he passed away Tuesday evening.

300 dollars in damage was estimated to the four-wheeler.

The mishap took place shortly before 1:30 p.m. Tuesday in the 1400 block of 505th Street in Peterson.
