Local Law Enforcement Agencies Receive Federal Funds For Bulletproof Vests

(Undated)– Several area law enforcement agencies have been awarded federal funding to purchase bullet-proof vests.

The Clay County Sheriff’s Office will receive 550-dollars for two vests; the Estherville Police Department was awarded 3,570-dollars for 12 vests; the Osceola County Sheriff’s Office will receive 908-dollars for three vests; the Sanborn Police Department was awarded 1,100-dollars to purchase three vests; the Spencer Police Department will receive 3,658-dollars for 13 vests and the Storm Lake Police Department will get 6,225-dollars for 10 vests.

The funding is through the U-S Department of Justice’s Bullet-proof Vest Partnership Program.
