(Milford)– Officials with Klaussner of Iowa (Style Craft) say they’re moving 32 jobs from their plant in Milford to one in North Carolina. It affects workers in the company’s swatching operations, which will be shut down in Milford September 8th.
George Wigen, Human Resources Manager for Klaussner of Iowa, says the change is necessary to ensure the company remains strong. He says the company made the decision after closely examining every part of its operations. Wigens says logistics and costs were factored into the decision, and that it does not reflect any negative turn in business nor does it reflect on the quality of work being done at the Milford plant.
Wigen adds all indicators are pointing toward a solid second half of the year.
He says Klaussner will attempt to place each affected employee back into the company’s workforce or assist them in securing employment somewhere else.
