Iowa Rock ‘n Roll Museum Makes Funding Request

November 23, 2014

(Arnolds Park)– The Arnolds Park City Council Wednesday approved a request for three thousand dollars a year in funding for two years for the Iowa Rock ‘n Roll Museum.

Doris Welle of the Iowa Rock ‘n Roll Music Association made the request, saying the funding is critical for the museum’s first couple of years of operation. She says it will help pay for the rent on the building that houses the museum adjacent to the Pavilion and Roof Garden in Arnolds Park. Welle says they’ll be making a similar request of the county in June.

The Iowa Rock ‘n Roll Museum holds its grand opening Saturday, May 24th. Welle says the museum will be open free to the public that day. A reception sponsored by Great Lakes GM Toyota will be held from 12 Noon until 2:30 p.m.; a ribbon cutting ceremony begins at 2:00 p.m. followed by a free hall of fame concert at 2:30 p.m. in the green space just east of the amusement park.
