(Spencer)– Police and school officials are trying to find whoever’s responsible for vandalizing the Spencer High School football field.
Authorities say someone used a herbicide to kill grass in the middle of the field either last weekend or early this week. They say it was done in such a fashion to spell out some letters, but they’re having a hard time figuring out just what exactly they are or what they say.
It’s Homecoming this week at Spencer High School, and authorities believe the vandalism is linked to that.
School officials say they’ll attempt to put a logo or something else on the field to mask the damage prior to Friday night’s football game.
A dollar estimate of the damage wasn’t immediately available. School officials say they’ll either have to re-seed or re-sod the field to permanently fix it.
