Emmetsburg school district voters will decide the fate of a bond issue October 10th. Superintedent John Joynt says 7 point 4 million dollars would build a new middle school next to the senior high. Joynt tells KUOO News the current, 1930 building just isn’t the best for kids. The new building would have 13 classrooms, a small office, new gymnasium and locker rooms, and auditorium. Superintendent Joynt estimates a new middle school in Emmetsburg would save 125 thousand dollars a year in maintenence expenses. The bond issue would cost property-owners an additional 2 dollars and 70 cents per thousand dollars valuation if approved
