(Des Moines)– Sustainable funding for the Iowa Department of Natural Resources will be the topic of a presentation on the Iowa Communications Network Thursday (Nov. 9th) evening that will be downloaded at a number of sites…including one in Spirit Lake.
Doug Haar of the DNR’s Wildlife Bureau tells KUOO news it stems from action taken in the last session of the legislature when lawmakers authorized a committee to make a recommendation on how to secure long-term funding for the DNR, Department of Agriculture and Land Stewardship, and county conservation boards.
Haar says Thursday’s (Nov. 9th) ICN presentation will give some background, followed by an opportunity for the public to give input…both verbally and in writing.
Haar says the committee will make a final report containing it’s recommendations to the legislature when it convenes in January.
Thursday’s ICN session begins at 7:00 p.m. in the ICN room at Spirit Lake High School. All interested persons are urged to attend.
