Dickinson County Polling Sites For Tues., Nov. 7th Election

PUBLIC NOTICE

Dickinson County combined various election precincts in January, 2006. The adopted precincts are listed below and are the same as were used in the Primary Election 2006. These precincts will remain in effect until after the next census.

ALL POLLS ARE OPEN FROM 7:00 A.M. UNTIL 9:00 P.M.

Summary of Election Precincts and Supervisor Districts (January 4, 2006)

1. Center Grove Township No. 1: all of the City of Okoboji and that part of rural Center Grove Township lying North and West of East Okoboji Lake. Population is 1383. Polling site: Okoboji City Hall.

2. Center Grove Township No. 2: all of the City of Arnolds Park and that part of rural Center Grove Township lying South and East of East Okoboji Lake. Population is 1980. Polling site: Arnolds Park City Hall.

3. Lakeville-Excelsior Township: all of Excelsior Township, and all of Lakeville Township including the City of Wahpeton and the City of West Okoboji Township. Population is 1939. Polling site: Mehan Hall Lakeside Lab.

4. Lloyd Township: all of Lloyd Township including the City of Terril. Population is 616. Polling site: Terril Memorial Building.

5. Milford-Okoboji-Westport Township: all of Milford Township including that part of the City of Milford in Milford Township, that part of the City of Milford in Center Grove Township, and those embedded portions of Center Grove Township in Section 31, and all of Okoboji Township including that part of the City of Milford in Okoboji Township and all of Westport Township. Population is 3252. Polling site: Milford Community Building.

6. Richland/Superior-Spirit Lake East Township: all of Richland Township and Superior Township combined, including all of the City of Superior and (Spirit Lake Township East) all that part of Spirit Lake Township lying East of Highway 276 which changes into Highway 327 to its termination and that portion of Spirit Lake Township lying East of a line described as beginning at the intersection of 270th Avenue and the Minnesota State Line, then following 270th Avenue South from the state line to Harlan Street South, then West and South to 270th Place, then East to 270th Avenue, then Southerly to the unnamed stream West of Sandbar Slough, then Westerly to Big Spirit Lake, and excluding any portion of the City of Orleans or City of Spirit Lake in said township. Population is 717. Polling site: Superior Municipal Building.

7. Silver Lake Township: all of Silver Lake Township and City of Lake Park. Population is 1159. Polling site: Lake Park Community Center.

8. Spirit Lake City North: precinct established by the City of Spirit Lake Ordinance No. 09-01 described in said ordinance as follows: The north precinct shall include all that part of the city lying north of a line commencing at the intersection of 14th Street and the east corporate limits of the City of Spirit Lake, then West on 14th Street to the intersection of Hill Avenue, then south on Hill Avenue to the intersection of 15th Street and Hill Avenue, then west along 15th Street to the west corporate limits of the City of Spirit Lake, and including the territory that comprises East Okoboji Lake North of U. S. Highway 71. Population is 1010. Polling site: Dickinson County Community Building-West Room.

9. Spirit Lake City South: precinct established by the City of Spirit Lake Ordinance No. 09-01 described in said ordinance as follows: The South precinct shall include all that part of the city not included in the North precinct as previously described herein, and part of rural Center Grove Township lying North and South of 15th Street of the City of Spirit Lake, and three embedded properties in unincorporated Center Grove Township. Population is 3258. Polling site: Dickinson County Community Building-East Room.

10. Spirit Lake West-Diamond Lake Township: all of the City of Orleans, and all that part of Spirit Lake Township lying West of Highway 327 and West of a line beginning on 270th Avenue at the Minnesota State Line and following 270th Avenue South to Harlan Street South, then West and South to 270th Place, then East to 270th Avenue and then Southerly to the stream West of Sandbar Slough, then westerly to Big Spirit Lake, and all of Diamond Lake Township. Population is 1110. Polling site: Dickinson County Expo Center.

Supervisors Districts (by precincts):

First District shall encompass the precincts of Spirit Lake City North, Spirit Lake Township West, Diamond Lake Township, Silver Lake Township, including City of Lake Park and City of Orleans.

Second District shall encompass the precincts of Lloyd Township, Richland/Superior Township, Spirit Lake Township East, and Center Grove Township No. 2, including City of Arnolds Park, City of Terril, and City of Superior.


Third District
shall encompass the precincts of Milford Township, Okoboji Township, and Westport Township, including City of Milford.


Fourth District
shall encompass the precincts of Excelsior Township, Lakeville Township, and Center Grove No. 1, including City of Wahpeton, City of West Okoboji, and City of Okoboji.

Fifth District shall encompass the precinct of Spirit Lake City South.

The polling places for Dickinson County Elections for the General Election to be held November 7, 2006 and all future elections until further notified are as listed below:

Notice to voters of Spirit Lake East Township: You will now vote at the Superior Municipal Building.

Notice to voters of Excelsior Township: You will now vote at Mahan Hall on the grounds of Iowa Lakeside Laboratory.

Notice to voters of Lakeville Township: You will now vote at Mahan Hall on the grounds of Iowa Lakeside Laboratory.

Notice to voters of Lloyd Township: You will now vote at the Terril Memorial Building, 115 N. State St., Terril, IA.

Notice to voters of Silver Lake Township: You will now vote at the Lake Park Community Center, 903 S. Market St., Lake Park, IA.

Notice to voters of Spirit Lake Township West: You will now vote at the Dickinson County Expo Center, 1602 15th St., Spirit Lake, IA.

Notice to voters of Diamond Lake Township: You will now vote at the Dickinson County Expo Center, 1602 15th St., Spirit Lake, IA.

Notice to voters of Westport Township: You will now vote at the Milford Community Building, 806 N. Avenue, Milford, IA.

The above listed polling places are accessible on Election Day and will remain as a polling place until further notified.
