(Spirit Lake)– Dickinson county’s long term comprehensive land use plan is about to get a good going-over.
The board of supervisors Tuesday signed off on an agreement to have the Northwest Iowa Planning and Development Commission revise the document at a cost of 8,500-dollars.
David Kolhaase, the county’s Zoning Administrator, says it’s been 10 years since the plan was last updated. He says given all the activity that takes place in Dickinson county, that it’s high time the plan be revised.
Kolhaase says work on the plan will get underway late this fall or early this winter. The entire process is expected to take two years to complete.
Kolhaase says the public will be asked to give input at meetings and hearings that will be held.
