Clay County Collision Sends One Person To The Hospital (1)

November 22, 2014

(Spencer)– A two-vehicle collision Monday at the intersection of Highway 71 and Clay County Road B63 sent one person to the hospital.

The Clay County Sheriff’s Office says 19-year-old Joanna Tiedeman of Hull was southbound on Highway 71 and failed to stop for a stop sign. Authorities say she collided with a vehicle driven by 24-year-old Joseph Mohr of Rembrandt who had stopped to make a left turn onto County Road B63. The impact of the crash pushed Mohr’s vehicle into the west ditch; Tiedeman’s vehicle came to rest on the west shoulder of the highway.

Mohr was taken to Spencer Hospital with undisclosed injuries. No injuries were reported to Tiedeman.

Extensive rear-end damage was reported to a 1988 Mercury Sable driven by Mohr, with extensive front-end damage to a 1996 Dodge Intrepid driven by Tiedeman.

Tiedeman was charged with failure to stop in a safe assured manner.

The mishap took place shortly before Noon.
