(Des Moines)– The public can now see who has donated to the Clay County Gaming Initiative…the organization promoting a positive vote in Tuesday’s gaming referendum.
A campaign disclosure form on the Iowa Ethics and Campaign Disclosure Board website shows the Initiative has accepted over 141-thousand dollars in donations through December 6th.
The list of contributions, most of them from the Spencer and Iowa Great Lakes areas, includes donations ranging from 36-thousand to 75-dollars.
The largest donations came from the Spencer Area Jobs Trust in the amount of 36-thousand on September 19th…and one in the amount of 14-thousand on October 15th.
Two separate donations of 10-thousand dollars were listed; nine people donated five thousand dollars; and the rest were between 4,800 and 75-dollars.
The report also included the amount of money spent. So far, the Clay County Gaming Initiative has spent over 118-thousand dollars. A cash balance of 22,743-dollars remains in the account.

The group opposing the gaming referendum, the “Don’t Gamble With Our Future Committee”, has filed a disclosure form of their own with the state, but it hasn’t been posted yet.
