(Waterloo)– No further details are available about a Luther College cheerleader who was seriously injured just before a football game Saturday.
Chandni Desai, a junior from Primghar, was practicing a cheerleading formation before the game between Luther and Wartburg College in Waverly when the accident happened.
Luther spokesman Jerry Johnson says Desai was taken to the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City for surgery.
She was in serious condition Saturday after the accident but no additional information has been released since then by either the college or hospital.
