(Lakefield, Mn.)– A Maple Grove, Minnesota woman was injured when the car she was driving collided with a power pole Saturday afternoon in Jackson county.
The Minnesota State Patrol says 29-year-old Sara Grimmius of Maple Grove was westbound on Interstate 90 about four miles east of the Highway 86 exit when the vehicle went off the road and collided with a steel electrical transmission pole. The vehicle then caught on fire.
Grimmius was taken by ambulance to the Jackson Medical Center with head and internal injuries and broken bones. She was then transferred to Sioux Valley Hospital in Sioux Falls.
A 2002 Volkswagon Grimmius was driving was totaled.
The mishap took place shortly before 5:00 p.m. Saturday.
The Minnesota State Patrol was assisted on the scene by the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office.
