Renolds didn’t give a possible time frame for the upcoming phases says a constraint on the supply of vaccine continues to be a major issue. She said Iowa is ranked 46th among the states when it comes to the amount of vaccine being received. Iowa is currently receiving 19,500 doses a week. Reynolds says that’s expected to increase to 39,000 per week beginning February 9th.
The Governor also today (Thurs.) announced a new grant program to assist bars and restaurants negatively impacted by the pandemic in the 2nd and 3rd quarters of 2020. The application process will begin at noon Monday and will continue until 5:00 pm February 15th. She says additional details about the program will be announced by Iowa Workforce Development next week. The program will provide $40 million in funding with one time grants of up to $25,000 each.
