(Milford)– The Dickinson County Recycling Center re-opened to the public effective Monday. Charles Vigdahl manages the site which is operated by the Dickinson County Conservation Board. While they are accepting things such as electronic and computer items, Vigdahl says there are two types of items they still are NOT accepting due to the pandemic…
“So right now we’re pretty much taking everything except for our paints and also household hazardous wastes, like the things you find underneath your kitchen sink, like bleach and pesticides and stuff like that, because that stuff requires a lot more touching and a lot more contact, so and then on our end it requires a lot of you know, putting it in different categories and putting it away so there’s a lot of contact between that, so we’re just going to kind of wait to take that stuff.”
Vigdahl says those visiting the site east of Milford are urged to take the necessary precautions due to COVID-19…
“We’re just encouraging people to wear masks just like everywhere else because we have staff here and we don’t want to get sick and we don’t want to get you sick, just like everything else. If you are bringing stuff in we do encourage people to wear masks.”
The center is open its regular summer hours on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 9:00 am until 4:00 pm and Tuesdays and Thursdays from 10:00 am until 6:00 pm.
