(Arnolds Park)– No injuries were reported earlier this (Sat.) afternoon when a snowmobile went up in flames in the pedestrian tunnel under Highway 71 between East and West Lakes Okoboji…just north of the Ritz.
The Arnolds Park-Okoboji Fire Department was called to the scene around 2:45 pm. The snowmobile was already completely engulfed when law enforcement and firefighters arrived.
There was no immediate word on a possible cause, but it was believed to have been the result of some sort of mechanical malfunction.
Firefighters were on the scene about 20 minutes.
