(Medina, Mn.)– Polaris Industries has announced it will be closing its plant in western South Dakota.
The company says production at its facility in Spearfish will be terminated in mid-February with the operations moving to the plant in Spirit Lake. The Spearfish plant is a painting operation for Indian Motorcycles, which are manufactured at the Spirit Lake location.
A spokeswoman for Polaris, Jessica Rogers, says the move will reduce logistic costs and result in better lead times for customers.
The 33 employees at the Spearfish plant will be given the opportunity to transfer to other Polaris facilities.
