(Arnolds Park)– Officials say this year’s University of Okoboji Winter Games were once again a huge success. Kiley Zankowski of the Iowa Great Lakes Area Chamber of Commerce says this year’s events again drew thousands of people to the area…
“A lot of the area businesses even yesterday when we were driving around were jammed pack full, which is just so good for our local economy. I know a lot of the hotels were full, restaurants were full with long waits all weekend long which is really, really good to hear.”
Zankowski adds the Chamber is very grateful to everyone who helped make this year’s event another huge success…
“We are so thankful for all of our volunteers, all of our sponsors, and just everyone in the community for coming together to make Winter Games such a success every single year. It really takes the whole community coming together to make an event on this scale happen, so we’re very, very thankful and we just want to give an extra thanks and shout out to all those volunteers, local businesses, community members, the emergency responders, everyone that was involved to make it such a success.”
Zankowski says they continue to post results from the various competitions and events at uofowintergames-dot-com. She says they also still have some apparel available for sale.
