(Arnolds Park)-The Iowa Rock ‘n Roll Music Association has some special events on tap for Winter Games, KUOO’s Becky Thoreson has details:
The Iowa Rock ‘n Roll Music Association will present a Rock the Roof Concert on January 23 at the Majestic Pavilion.
Program Coordinator Patsy Donovan explains. “We are excited to kind of be the opening night actually of Winter Games on Thursday night. We have Kevin & The Shane Gang playing at Rock the Roof in the Pavilion. The doors will open at 5 on Thursday and the concert is from 6 until 8. Tickets are $8 for singles and $15 for couples, and there are food and beverages for sale there as well as merchandise. So, we hope we have a good crowd and look forward to seeing everybody.”
She notes that the Iowa Rock ‘n Roll Museum will serve as a warming station during Winter Games, with special events planned on Saturday, January 25. “We are going to be offering hot chocolate, hot apple cider, we have a cash bar available and merchandise for sale. We do have some records, we also have some regular sheet music that we’re going to be selling as well. We have music that afternoon. Eli Dykstra, who is one of our Iowa Rocks Talent winners is going to be playing from 2-4 and he’s a wonderful musician so we hope people will come in to listen to Eli.”

NOTE: The Iowa Rock ‘n Roll Museum is open Tuesday through Friday 10-4 during the winter, and will be open from 10-6 on Saturday, January 25 for Winter Games.
