Okoboji Blue Water Festival announces return of Boz Skaggs

The Okoboji Blue Water Festival has announced the return of a favorite performer for the August event.

Festival Founder Greg Drees explains.  “We’re very excited to have two musical acts back that have played at the festival in the past.  Our inaugural event in 2016, we had the great Boz Skaggs, he was our concert headliner and he will be back this summer to take the stage on Saturday, August 8th, and the opening act is JD McPherson.  He opened three years ago for Chris Isaak and just blew everybody away.  So, JD McPherson to open, Boz Skaggs to headline.”

He adds that the festival will feature a full line-up of clean water-themed activities throughout the day.  “It will be an all day event to raise public awareness of water quality issues.  It will begin in the morning with Chalkstock, with the young artists painting their visions of clean water on the sidewalks.  We’ll have as many as three dozen exhibitors along the sidewalk.  These are conservation associations and our lakes protective associations and green businesses, all with a message of clean water and natural resource preservation.  We will also have a panel of speakers under the big tent like we have in all the past years, and then everything culminates that evening with the concert on the stage.”
