(Okoboji)– The “Battle of the Bartenders” will once again be among the activities kicking off this year’s University of Okoboji Winter Games.
The event will once again be hosted by Parks Marina and The Barefoot Bar beginning at 5:00 pm Thursday, January 23rd. It will be part of the annual “Locals Party” that evening.
The “Battle of the Bartenders” involves 20 local businesses pitting the area’s mixologists against each other in a competition that benefits the charities of their choice. The public is invited to sample the cocktail creations and tip for each business. The top three bartenders accumulating the most tips will split the proceeds for the charity of their choice.
Three checks were presented to local charities in 2019 totaling $6,861. Since the event began in 2013, it has raised more than $28,000 for local charities.
