Several events in January will benefit the Humane Society of Northwest Iowa.

Executive Director Arin Miller-Kohn says a couple of fundraisers will be held on the next two Thursdays.  “We have a lot going on in January.  We have the Disney Trivia at West O this Thursday from 7-9, that’s a $10 entry fee.  Then we have Jason Grinnen, putting on the annual auction down at Chaplin’s, it starts at 7.  There’s a hot dog bar, music, fun.  The auction starts at 8 on January 23.”

She adds that several events will be held during the U of O Winter Games.  “We have Snoga Saturday during Winter Games, and then we also have Best in Show, it’s a dog show that Okoboji Boat Works is putting on for us this year.  This will be the first time and it’s a $10 entry fee otherwise free to attend, and it should be quite a bit of fun to see everybody dress up their dog, and that is from 1-3 on the Saturday of winter Games.  then we have our annual Bingo, it will be at the Dickinson County Expo Building.  We have our biggest blackout prize, it’s a $350 pellet grill.”
