Autopsy Results Show Smoke Inhalation As Cause Of Death In Spencer House Fire

(Spencer)– Autopsy results say smoke inhalation was the cause of death of a man who died in a house fire in Spencer November 4th of last year.

The fire at 1408 13th Avenue West claimed the life of 72-year-old Lawrence Bendlin of Spencer. He was found in a bedroom of the home. 

The cause of the fire was determined to be improperly disposed smoking materials.

Firefighters encountered light smoke throughout the home when the arrived on the scene. Fire damage was reported to one room with smoke damage throughout the rest of the home.
