Spencer City Administrator Receives ICMA Certification

January 02, 2020

(Spencer)– The Spencer City Administrator, Amanda Mack, received her International City/County Management Association credentialed manager status recently, and is very glad her hard work has paid off…

Amanda Mack

“So I have received credentialed manager status through the ICMA which is the International City/County Managers Association. So to become a credentialed manager there’s a certain set of criteria you need to meet. It takes several years to be able to qualify for the status, you need to have so many years in the profession, there’s a certain education level you have to meet and then you have to be committed to lifelong learning and professional development. So annually after you receive your credentialing you have to submit a professional development plan to the ICMA in order to keep your credentialing. It’s a great organization and they provide some really phenomenal resources for managers, assistants, department heads. They really empower you to take ownership of your role and try to be the very best manager that you can be.”

Mack, happy in “the best job ever,” hopes for continued success in Spencer and awaits new challenges. For more information about the ICMA click here.
