(Milford)– Iowa State University Extension and Outreach is reminding the public of an upcoming informational program.
Amy Forette, Clay County Ag Program Coordinator with ISU Extension and Outreach says an Annie’s Project “Women in Ag” program is coming up in January in Milford…
“This is a partnership with Clay and Dickinson counties. This is a six week course. It’s called Annie’s Project and it’s Women In Agriculture. It’s intended to guide women in making good decisions for their farm. Women learn best from other women. The Annie’s Project takes advantage of that fact by creating a comfortable and supporting learning environment focused on the best farming practices and business practices. The course participants will learn some great strategies for good decision making. This program will be held once a week in the evenings from January 2020 until February 2020 starting on January 23rd at the St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Milford.”
Topics will include managing finances, human resources, legal issues, marketing and production, including USDA programs, purchasing crop or livestock insurance and farmland leases.
More information is available by contacting Forette at the Clay County ISU Extension and Outreach Office at (712) 262-2264.
