Holiday Brunch to help raise funds for Spirit Lake High School J-Term trip to Haiti

A Thanksgiving Holiday Brunch will be held on Sunday to raise funds to help several Spirit Lake High School Students with their J-Term trip to Haiti.

Spirit Lake High School student Faith Norris explains.  “There’s a group of about 16 of us, students and adults going, and we’re going January 8th through the 17th.  We’re just going and we’re going to help out, play with kids and have a good time while serving the community.”

Co-Leader Clay Norris says the fundraiser will include live music and espresso bar.  “It’s a free will donation.  We’re going to have a pancake feed, we’re going to have DAve Rowley perform.  He’s going to be there from 9:30 until about 11:30, and he’s volunteered to perform.  A friend of ours, Matt Nikkel and his wife Jess, they used to own a coffee shop in Cedar Falls, so they are excellent baristas and are going to come and make coffees for people that want that.”

The Holiday Brunch will run from 9-1 at the Spirit Lake High School Multi-Purpose Room on Sunday.

NOTE:  Holiday Pies will also be on sale at the event.
