Youth In Philanthropy In The Midst Of A Fundraising Campaign

November 21, 2019

(Arnolds Park)– The Okoboji Foundation’s Youth In Philanthropy program is in the midst of a fundraising campaign. As we reported previously the group of lakes area high school students set $50,000 as their team fundraising goal for 2020.

Rob Waterhouse of the Okoboji Foundation says they’ll soon be accepting grant applications for the upcoming round of Youth In Philanthropy grant awards…YIP Fundraising01

“Starting January 1st we’ll start to receive grant requests here at the Okoboji Foundation and the Youth in Philanthropy group students will look at all of the grants that are $24,999 or less and they’ll get a chance to review those grant requests and score them, discuss them, and then from the money they raise then they get to decide, or steer, where those grant funding dollars go that they participated in fundraising for.”

Waterhouse adds this is a good time of the year to donate to the cause…YIP Fundraising02

“Some of the students might be reaching out to family, friends, neighbors, businesses in the community so if you do get that call and you do want to support Youth in Philanthropy, it’s a wonderful way to do it. Especially this time of year as people are thinking of year-end giving and causes to support.”
