(Spirit Lake)– No injuries were reported this (Tues.) afternoon in a fire about half way between Spirit Lake and Lake Park. Spirit Lake Fire Chief Pat Daly says they were called to 1740 160th street around 2:30 or so…
“We got called for a camper and a garage fire. And like a minute later they called up and said it was fully engulfed. So we had a garage next to it, it took the vinyl siding off from it and started burning the sheeting. They guys got on it and knocked that down right away and then we concentrated on the shed and the camper.”
The Lake Park Fire Department also responded to the scene to help supply water.
Daly says the camper and shed, along with its contents, were destroyed. He says they were able to keep the blaze from spreading to an adjoining house. Daly says the cause of the fire is undetermined…
“We’re looking at the back end of the camper. Right now it’s pretty hard to tell with all the damage that’s back there, so it will probably be undetermined, but we do know it started in the back of the camper. That’s where everybody seen it.”
Firefighters were on the scene about two hours.
