Reckless Driving Complaint Results In Arrest Of Graettinger Man On Multiple Charges

(Estherville)– An investigation October 21st into a report of a reckless motorist by the Emmet County Sheriff’s Office resulted in the arrest of a Graettinger man.

Authorities say it happened shortly before 9:00 pm that evening when they received a report of a reckless driver on Highway 4 north of Wallingford. A deputy located the suspect vehicle a short time later and pulled it over.

The driver, 49-year-old Robert Messenger of Graettinger was found to be allegedly in possession of what was believed to be methamphetamine. He was arrested and charged with possession of a controlled substance…3rd offense, operating while intoxicated…2nd offense, possession of drug paraphernalia, open container of alcohol on a public roadway, and no driver’s license.

Messenger was booked into the Emmet county jail on a $7,000 cash or surety bond.
