(Spencer)– The Spencer Rotary Club is gearing up for one of it’s largest annual fundraising events. Club President Chris Tostenrud tells KUOO news they’ll be holding their annual book sale next week…
“I tell you what this is an annual event that we’ve been doing. It’s one of our two major fundraisers and we host it at the Clay County Regional Events Center. It’s going to begin on November 6th and run through November 10th and we have a lot of books.”
Tostenrud says they have a special event planned for the opening evening of the book sale Wednesday, November 6th with their “First Choice Party”…
“We have an admission charge of five dollars and we have some horsd’oeuvres and some beverages available. There’s usually a line of people waiting to get in to get the first choice at the books, hard cover, soft cover books. We also do have some audio and video things that people donate to us and some puzzles and games and that type of stuff.”
Tostenrud adds they collect donated books for the sale throughout the year…
“We are always accepting books at Spencer Municipal Utilities here in Spencer and what doesn’t get on the book sale this year will get added to the collection for the 2020 sale.”
Tostenrud says complimentary coffee will be available throughout the event and that tables will be set up where shoppers can take a break, enjoy a cup of coffee and peruse an interesting book.
