Crash At Rural Clay County Intersection Results In Minor Injury

October 22, 2019

(Spencer)– A two-vehicle collision Monday at the intersection of Highway 18 and 240th Avenue in Clay county resulted in one person going to the hospital.

The Clay County Sheriff’s Office says 62-year-old Nancy Ketcham of Spencer was driving a 2014 Buick southbound on 240th Avenue and had stopped at a stop sign at the intersection. Deputies say Ketcham pulled into the path of a 2002 Mercury driven by 68-year-old Robert Dillard of Dickens who was eastbound on Highway 18.

A passenger in Dillard’s vehicle was taken by private vehicle to Spencer Hospital.

Ketcham was cited for failure to obey a stop sign.

The collision took place shortly before 12:30 pm.
