(Milford)-Pets are welcome at a fundraiser for the Humane Society of Northwest Iowa this coming weekend , KUOO’s becky Thoreson has details:
The 2nd Annual Howl-O-Ween Fundraiser for the Humane Society of Northwest Iowa will be held on Saturday.
Executive Director Erin Miller-Kohn says pets are welcome. “Bring your dogs for the costume contest, that’s the biggest thing is that it’s a doggie costume contest. Registration starts at 5 pm. We have the costume contest, we also have doggie gift bags at the door. We have a live auction, a nacho and popcorn bar, then we also have a food truck there for you, and then we have entertainment by Michael Hope starting at 8 pm that day.”
She adds that proceeds from the event will help with expenses at the shelter. “One of our biggest expenses is Vet bills. Last month our Vet bill was over $8,000. So, a lot of this goes right back towards taking care of the animals at the shelter, making sure that our lights stay on, we have water, electricity, everything like that. So, it really goes back to benefiting the Humane Society and taking care of the animals.”
Howl-O-Ween will be held at West O Brewery from 5-10 pm on Saturday.
