Clay County Crash Results In Minor Injuries (2)

October 18, 2019

(Spencer)– Minor injuries were reported Thursday in a single vehicle crash in Clay county.

The Clay County Sheriff’s Office says 25-year-old Whitney Coy of Rossie was driving a 2004 Chrysler westbound in the 2000 mile of 420th Street. Deputies say Coy lost control of the vehicle while she was trying to get a dog to sit. The vehicle crossed into the opposite lane of travel and went into the south ditch, eventually coming to rest in a corn field.

Minor injuries were reported to Coy but she wasn’t taken to a hospital.

Coy was cited for failure to maintain control and no insurance, accident related.

Damage to the vehicle was estimated at $3,000.

The crash took place around 3:30 pm.

Royal Fire and Rescue, Spencer Ambulance and Bud’s Service assisted on the scene.
